The Most Common Cell Phone Repairs Associated With Modern Smartphones.

Smartphone manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to improve their products. By upgrading the materials used in the devices and adding new functions and features, manufacturers can periodically produce new versions of their devices to appeal to people who are in the market for a new phone or who are ready to upgrade to the latest model.

While making these upgrades, manufacturers are often looking for ways to make their phones more indestructible, which includes making them more moisture resistant so they can be used in wet-weather conditions, at the pool or beach, and even for taking pictures underwater. However, in some instances, they need to sacrifice the strength of one feature or another to boost another feature, or make the devices thinner and smaller so they are easier to carry.

However, no matter what the manufacturers do to make their phones more innovative, high-impact crashes, repetitive procedures like plugging in a charger, or even just constant use can eventually take their toll on modern smartphones. Here are the most common issues reported:

  • Cracked screens. This has become more of a problem with manufacturers experimenting with new types of screens and designs. Previously, most manufacturers have used new and improved types of Gorilla Glass that are chemically strengthened to be thin, light, and damage resistant. However, as manufacturers switched from liquid crystal display (LCD) screens to organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens, the number of cracked screen repairs has increased because the newer screens tend to be more fragile.
  • Water damage. Even with phones being able to submerge to two meters for up to 30 minutes without problems, if you have a cracked screen, bent case, or other damaged components to your smartphone, water can seep in and cause some serious damage, especially to the electronics inside your phone.
  • Connectors. While many phones now utilize wireless earbuds and charging, damage to external connector points is not as big a problem as it has been in the past. However, if you do regularly plug your charger cable into the phone, it can get damaged over time by the repetitive motion and eventually may not connect properly.
  • Batteries. Minimizing power usage and making the construction of batteries used in smartphones has come a long way. However, even the best batteries can only be discharged and recharged a number of times before the chemical composition within is depleted to the point where a charge can no longer hold.

The great thing about the advancement of smartphone construction is that a number of independent repair facilities have opened to assist customers with problems. When looking for cell phone repair services in Virginia Beach or anywhere around Hampton Roads, these shops offer faster service and lower repair costs than most manufacturers, even if the warranty has expired. So if something does happen to your smartphone, they are ready and able to fix your phone quickly to get you back in business.
